nueva población

Dr. Richards and his friend Martha Frenkel have built a new school for the Wicho community, an Amerindian community in one of the poorest regions of Argentina.

The new building replaces a dilapidated mud-brick building which was over 50 years old and will serve 120 students from the community.

The new school was opened on March 29 2005. Attending the opening ceremony was the Minister of Education, the mayor, the director, teachers, pupils, families and friends.

The following photos show the old school, several pictures of the new school, and the opening ceremony.
