Lower Priced Edition for South Asia
Jack Richards and Tom Farrell's book Practice Teaching, which was published in 2011, will be reprinted in a South Asian lower price edition, by Cambridge University Press India. The South Asian reprint editions provide key titles at lower prices for sale in South Asian markets.
Lalique Vases
A book on Jack Richards collection of Lalique vases has been published by Bateman publishers. The book contains photos of the more than 130 vases in the collection, plus a number of essays on Lalique.

New Four Level Course
Jack Richards and David Bohlke have published Four Corners, a brand new four level integrated course in American English that integrates a framework of learning outcomes based on the Common European Framework. >>GO
Video Podcasts
Jack Richards has recorded a series of 21 short video podcasts entitled “Topics in Language Teaching”. Two of these will be released each month. They can be found on the Cambridge University Press ELT Youtube Channel and can also be accessed on their Four Corners page.

Honorary Professorship
Jack Richards has been appointed honorary professor in the Faculty of Education, University of Sydney, Australia, commencing in January 2011, and will give a series of lectures to students in TESOL programs at Sydney University
Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation
On January 31st Jack had a lunch meeting with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, New Zealand’s leading opera singer, to discuss support for emerging opera singers.
Starting in 2011 Dr. Richards will make a substantial annual grant to the Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation, which supports young operas singers with their studies in the UK.

The last of the summer concerts in support of the Gisborne Music Competition, held January 29th 2011 at Dr. Richards’ New Zealand summer residence in Gisborne. Jack has produced a short documentary on pianist Tony Lee. >>GO

Ian Gordon Fellowship
Jack Richards has been invited to be the Ian Gordon Fellow at Victoria University, Wellington, in 2011. The late Professor Ian Gordon was a distinguished professor of English at Victoria University and one of Jack Richards' lecturers. Every year a scholar is invited to give a series of lectures at Victoria, funded from a grant left for this purpose by Professor Gordon. Dr. Richards will give a series of lectures at Victoria University in August 2011.
