 2008 China tour
In March 2008 Dr. Jack Richards presented a series of seminars and workshops in China, sponsored by Cambridge University Press and the Beijing University of Foreign Studies Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The lecture series included presentations in Beijing, Jinan, Changsha, Xi'an, and Guangzhou and attracted enthusiastic participants in each centre.
 A total of some 1600 teachers participated in the seminars, during which Dr.
Richards also presented "Star Teacher Awards", to teachers who had submitted videos of their teaching for review by a panel of expert teachers.

Richards on his tour, and a teacher receiving a Star Teaching Award.
 Dr. Richards comments:
"I would like to say a sincere thank you to all the teachers who attended my seminars and who gave me such a warm welcome in China. My 2008 China visit has been a wonderful experience and many thanks to those friends and colleagues who worked so hard to make the tour such a success".
