 jack c. richards scholarship for overseas postgraduate study
Sydney-based Victoria alumnus, Dr Jack Richards, co-sponsor of the Creative New Zealand/Jack C. Richards Composer-in-Residence, has increased his support for music at the New Zealand School of Music by establishing the Jack C. Richards Scholarship for Overseas Postgraduate Study. Dr Richards was encouraged to extend his support for the School’s students in this way by friend Margaret Medlyn, renowned soprano and Artist Teacher in Voice at the New Zealand School of Music.
Commencing in 2010, the scholarship, valued at $12,000, will be awarded to postgraduate students in the New Zealand School of Music who wish to undertake full-time study in music overseas. First preference will be given to performance students, with consideration also given to those studying musicology and composition. |
